This uniquely colonial styled camp is snuggled into the side of a magnificent kopje in the heart of the central Serengeti. With stunning views as far as the eye can see over the plains, this camp dwarfs all of your senses. Perfectly located for fantastic game viewing opportunities just outside of camp, delicious food abound and excellent guides will teach you the ways of the wildlife.

With twelve luxury canvas styled tents, all very spacious, all en-suite with running water and styled in a very traditional colonial way. The main mess area is perched at the top of the camp and has the most breath-taking views of the Serengeti.

Singita Faru Faru

Location: Grumeti Reserves, Western Serengeti, Northern Tanzania

No of rooms: 8 suites & 1 villa suite

Style: Zanzibari rustic luxury

Highlights: Staying in a beach lodge in the bush

Dining: Eat separately on the beach or in any of the numerous dining areas

Faru Faru River Lodge has the feel of a Zanzibar retreat with small beaches leading down to crystal clear swimming pools, with views of the bush and the Grumeti River. It’s quite a contrast but it works. True barefoot luxury in the bush, with yet again another Michelin star chef. The lodge is rustic, and each room has a wall dedicated to glass, so sweeping views of the surrounding bush can be enjoyed at all times, a small shady verandah provides relaxing rest from the day time heat.

Namiri Plains

Location: Western Serengeti

No of rooms: 6 tents

Style: Mobile camps situated in a region previously closed to visitors for 20 years

Highlights: The numerous big cat conservation projects going on here mean you often find yourself discussing leopards around the camp fire!

Dining: Communal dining in the mess or under the stars

Namiri (meaning big cat in Swahili) Plains Camp is a very exciting new addition to the Serengeti safari circuit and we’re exceptionally excited about it. Opening in July 2014 this luxury camp is situated in an area which has been closed for twenty years – Frankfurt Zoo had been using the area for big cat research projects and as a result there is an abundance of big cats here.

The concession is completely private so you won’t see another soul and the guiding here will be advanced – guests will also have the chance to get out into the bush with the actual zoologists and researchers themselves which is completely fascinating.
