Day 02    Lake Manyara National Park

Drive to Lake Manyara in the Great Rift Valley. Enjoy a game drive around Lake Manyara National Park. Famed for its unusual tree climbing lions it also has a large elephant population, rich bird life and thousands of flamingos on the soda lake. Late in the afternoon, climb into the crater highlands for spectacular views and overnight under canvas at Rhotia Valley Tented Lodge.

Day 03    Serengeti National Park

Drive to the Serengeti. Lunch en-route at Olduvai Gorge and a view of the archaeological sites (and visit the museum) where early human tools and fossils have been found.

Afternoon game drive in the rolling grasslands. The Serengeti is home to millions of Africa’s large mammals, making this one of the world’s most famous wildlife destinations.

Overnight under canvas in central Serengeti at Naona Moru Camp.

Day 04    Serengeti National Park

All day game drives in Serengeti. Best time for the wildebeest migration in this area is November to May but there are spectacular wildlife sightings at any time of year.

Dinner and camp-fire with the stars and sounds of the African night. Overnight again at the beautiful Naona Moru Camp.

Day 05      Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Further morning game drive in Serengeti and then back across the grasslands and up to the Ngorongoro Crater. Tonight we are staying in a tented camp, under canvas. Located in the Crater acacia forest on the back of the rim, it is quite common for zebra, buffalo and even elephant to be grazing right outside your tent!

Day 06     Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Early morning descent into the crater for spectacular scenery and game viewing in what has been described as the eighth wonder of the world. Return to the crater rim for wilderness walk with armed ranger, and afterwards, returning to camp for overnight.

Day 07       Arusha

Descend from the highlands and visit a small village on the shores of Lake Manyara for a Maasai lands and life experience. We maintain a nursery school here, which you may visit in term time. You can visit traditional huts, take part in activities like goat herding and spot birds on a short walking safari. Return to Arusha [BL].
