Fly in Gorilla Tracking Adventure in Bwindi
From Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for the Gorilla Track
Day 01 Entebbe – Kihihi Airstrip – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Check in at the Entebbe International Airport at 6.00am for your 07.00am flight to Kihihi Airstrip. The flight will take you over Lake Victoria where you will be able to look down at the vastness of the third biggest lake in the world. There are Islands dotted on the lake and you might even spot the odd fisherman!
As you approach Bwindi Impenetrable Forest from the sky you will clearly understand where the forest got its name from and the landing approach is a truly memorable experience.
On arrival at Kihihi Airstrip at 08.45 am, you will be met by a representative from Mahogany Springs Lodge who will transfer you to your accommodation for the evening.
There are many activities that can be done in the in the Bwindi area: Nature Walks, Batwa Tribe Experience, Bird Watching, one hour basket weaving classes and Village Walks to name a few. All of them can be added to this itinerary.
Overnight at Mahogany Springs Lodge, lunch, dinner.
Day 02 Gorilla Trekking in the Impenetrable Forest
The Gorilla Trekking Adventure begins, after a short drive to the park headquarters for a Gorilla trekking briefing. An advance party of guides will have already gone into the forest to locate where the gorillas slept the previous night and will have began to track their movements.
The guides will communicate with your team through a park ranger who will then know which way to proceed. Locating the gorillas can take a few hours or the whole day depending on how far the have moved from their resting place.
For conservation purposes, time allowed with the Gorillas is 1 hour.
Once you have completed the trek you will return to the lodge, for a well earned rest.
Overnight stay at Mahogany Springs, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 03 Bwindi – Kihihi – Entebbe
After your amazing Gorilla Trekking experience the previous day you will be transferred to Kihihi Airstrip after breakfast, for flight back to Entebbe. Prepare yourself this time for the breathtaking views of Uganda from the air and enjoy the one hour flight back to Entebbe.
